Salem University, on October 8, 2016, graduated her 5th set of Change Agents. A total of 383 Change Agents out of which 15 graduated with first class honours which cut across different programmes of the University. 

In his convocation speech, the Chancellor and Founder of Salem University, Archbishop Sam Amaga, appreciated the efforts of the members of Board of Trustees and members of the Governing Council. The University Management team headed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Adeola Fuwape was also appreciated for stirring the ship in the right direction. The Chancellor also congratulated the graduands and their parents for their various achievements which he said, was attribute to hard work, dedication and commitment. The Pro-Chancellor, in his address, counseled the graduating students, that “they should not be in a rush to acquire wealth by all means. Rome, it is said, is not built in a day”. That they should rather use skills acquired in Salem University to create jobs and change their generations.
During the presentation of prizes at the convocation, the number of students who made 1st Class and 2nd Class Upper in their various Colleges are as follows:
1. (College of Information and Communication Technology CICT)—1st Class (2) 2nd Class Upper (11)
2. College of Management and Social Sciences (CMSS)—1st Class (9) 2nd Class Upper (96
3. College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS) 1st Class (4) 2nd Class Upper (29). 

Some of the students who made first class and have received prizes up to two were given automatic scholarship for their M.Sc Programes by the Chancellor, Archbishop Dr. Sam Amaga instantly. The Convocation ceremony was attended by many dignitaries across the nation which including Vice-Chancellors from other Universities, BOT/Council Members of Salem University, Government Officials, traditional rulers and Military/Para-Military, Global Parents and the University Community
