The Senate at its 278th Regular meeting held on Thursday, 27th October, 2016, noted the report by the Vice-Chancellor that many students of the University have not paid their charges for up to three semesters.
Senate also noted that the non-payment of school charges has put a strain on the efforts of Administration in running the Campus.
Consequently, Senate decided that:
i) A town hall meeting be held with the Students to be informed of the situation being faced by the University Administration in running the Campus due to non-payment of charges;
ii) The students who have not paid their charges be given till the end of November, 2016 to do so;
iii) Any student who is unable to pay the student charges at end of November, 2016 should defer studies as their assessment test and examination would not be processed.
iv) The deadline for the payment of the school charges should be adequately published.
