Applications are invited for Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship Awards 2016. The award is for 20 (twenty) students each of whom will receive one hundred thousand naira (100,000) making a total sum of two million naira.
Gani Fawehinmi Scholarship-Awards
  1. Applicants must be poor and indigent
  2. Applicants must be registered students of Tertiary institutions in Nigeria i.e. Universities, Polytechnics and colleges of Education.
  3. Applicants must have good academic performance
  1. Each applicant shall submit an application letter not more than two (2) pages. The letter must include the name of the candidate, course and year of study, state of origin, why the candidate believes he/she should be given the award.
  2. The application letter must be accompanied by:
    • a photocopy of the candidate’s current Head of Department, including correct information on the candidate’s GPA for the last academic session
    • a letter from the Registrar certifying that the candidate is a student of the institution
    • a copy of the candidate’s registration form for the current semester and
    • two (2) current passport photographs
The application letter with all the supporting documents should be forwarded (by hand or by postal delivery) to:

The deadline for submission of applications is  Wednesday 24th August, 2016
  1. Calabar: Applicants will be interviewed on Thursday August 25th, 2016 at ASUU Secretariat University of Calabar at 10:00 am
  2. Bauchi: Applicants will be interviewed on Thursday September 8, 2016 at ASUU Secretariat, Abbakar Tafawa Balewa University at 10:00am
  3. Lagos: Applicants will be interviewed on Thursday September 20th, 2016 at Nigerian Law publications House, Otunba Jobi Fele Way, C.B.D, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos at 10:00am
Successful candidates will be awarded the scholarship on Thursday September 22, 2016 at Nigerian Law Publications House, Otunba Jobi Fele Way Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
NOTE: Previous beneficiaries are not eligible
